So I saw Slumdog Millionaire...

And it was really good, I wasn't too sure about it at first, but I really enjoyed it. Dev Patel was really good, and he Frieda really do have great chemistry... All the children were really good too...

But, just what is with Danny Boyle and bathroom humour? He's like obsessed with it... Watching this and watching Trainspotting, I was like, what in the???

I also didn't remember that Chris Eccleston was in Danny's first movie (with Ewan no doubt) Shallow Grave, till I read the credits on imdb... I rented it from the library a long time ago, I almost want to go and get it again.

The icon has nothing to do with anything (except for obvious JB love), and that I want the weather to go warmer, which it is actually supposed to.

Okay this is embarassing to admit...

But I have never seen the Dark Knight... Well I sort of did, but I wasn't really paying attention.... I wasn't at a movie theatre though, I watched by *ahem* other means, but I've been sitting here reading stuff about it, and now I have this urge to watch it. Maybe I'll go look for the *other means* again...

*Snort* my theme for today seems to be the hothouse scenes in Torchwood :P

And parts of Fantasia, The Dark Knight, Airport, The Bells of St Mary's, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I have never seen any of the Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, or Harry Potter movies... The only one I am considering caving on is Indiana Jones. I have only seen the first Shrek movie.

I still don't completely get the Godfather movies... Doctor Zhivago for that matter....

My favourite on the list is Ben Hur... It makes me cry everytime.

Listening to Michael Moore on Larry King...

I don't usually watch Larry King, but I happened to turn it on tonight...

They're talking about Michael's first documentary Roger and Me, it's about the auto industry in Michigan and it's kinda prophetic to what's going on with the US auto industry right now. Not that I see Michael as totally credible and definitely not able to see the future, it's just interesting for the times that we live in.

I've only seen Bowling for Columbine actually. I'll never forget him opening the front doors to people's houses in Toronto and Windsor without anyone home... I was like that is SO a set up, people don't actually leave their houses unlocked here.

Weird fact? Michael Arden had to change his last name from Moore to Arden, because of this Michael Moore.

Meat is on Space tonight (I don't think there are any Canadians watching Torchwood anymore :o() and I'll probably watch a bit of From Out of the Rain too.

Watched the Faenol Festival tonight too... Interesting that for the radio they packaged it as the four of them (John, Daniel, Shan and Jodie), but for tv it was John Barrowman at the Faenol Festival... Granted the radio broadcast was live... It was really good though... And I am still totally enthralled by John and Daniel's I Know Him so Well...

I still don't get it...

No matter how many times I watch The Godfather Part II I still don't get the story... I mean I get the part about young Vito Corleone and his rise to power, but Michael's story? Not so much. I get parts I and III but not II. AMC has been marathoning the movies all weekend (well I and II anyway, I haven't seen III, but then again who wants to? Sofia Coppola yeesh!), and I have been watching and trying to understand, and I just don't get it... I even double checked to make sure that the character of Fredo is in I and II and he is, but it still didn't help

That and Dr. Zhivago, I don't get that movie either... *Shifts eyes around* I hope no one stops by randomly and tries to explain them to me... Someone tried to explain Dr. Zhivago to me once and it just didn't take.

Class was long... Frickin' Excel chapters are looooooooooooonggggggggggggg... The girl who's on the same schedule as me still isn't done Proofreading and English. She didn't do the checkpoints and now she can't get past them (you have to get 80% to move on) to the exam...

Also it's Prince Charles 60th and he and Al Pacino are friends... Allrighty then... That and Robert DeNiro saw Hair in London with John Barrowman :P

I love Daphne Rubin-Vega's credit...

In the Sex and the City Movie, "baby voiced woman."

That also better have been SJP's nod to Rent. It has to have been right?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes..........

Randy Harrison, Jake Silbermann, Gareth David-Lloyd, Van Hansis, Gale Harold and John Barrowman all made afterelton's hot 100 list... Not suprisingly of course... There might be some who think Randy should be higher (I think they have him at 32?), but how? He's only done theatre for the last 2 years... I was actually worried that Gale wouldn't be in there (because of DH, blech)... He is though...

Yes I did see Sex and the City: The Movie... It was good, a bit too long (almost 2 and a half hours??)... Like they were trying mash 4+ episodes in there... I did like how it ended (yes I'm a sap at hear), and Anthony and Stanford together? Little scary... What happened to Marcus?

Edit: There should be one additional yes Declan Bennett made the list too :o)

I feel a little better...

Saw Deception with Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor (both of whom I love and both of whom can sing VERY well)... It was all right... Kind of predictable, with Ewan being setup by Hugh and then you have to wonder how he'll get out of it..

Michelle Williams was in it too... Ironic that she's the only one of the three with an Oscar nomination...

edit: Forgot to mention that everytime I go to one of Ewan's movies, hoping he'll speak in his own accent, and he's doing American (more and more it seems)... Doesn't bother me as much with Hugh, he's done so many movies with the American accent now...

Nothing in this post...

Is related to the other... Still reeling from Torchwood... Loved (!!!) JB and Richard Stokes talking about it... Wow so nonchalant... (that's total sarcasm btw...)

Today would have been Bette Davis' 100th birthday (Joan Crawford's would have been last Sunday) and TCM is playing her movies... The Corn is Green is on right now... It's set in Wales (shot on a Warner soundstage in Los Angeles), and one of the actors (read ACTOR, not CHARACTER) is named Rhys Williams...

As for my icon, I've thought about changing it... I kind of like it's spazzy quality right now...

Maybe it's like that cause my internet is fixed now???

I saw Sweeney Todd...

And wow they weren't kidding when they were talking about the amount of blood.... Wow... Johnny Depp is amazing, Helena is good (not a great singer though, I don't know how she got past the audition with Sondheim.... maybe cause Tim wasn't going to do the film without her??), but the younger cast are amazing singers...

I was listening to the revival, but now I'm listening to Dreamgirls...

Sherry Miller is on tv...

And it would figure that I have no Jennifer icons... Justin will have to be close enough... She's doing either an informercial or a telethon for Sick Kids... With Paul Gross??

Weird coincidence considering I was watching the "Facts of Life" produced by Paul Haggis... I was thinking yesterday, that George Clooney should be in one of his films...

Okay going before I get anymore confusing :P

Edit: See how I just did that? Six degrees of Queer as Folk?

Idina Menzel is in Enchanted....

And nobody told me... She was really good too... I liked the movie too...

I wonder if she said to Patrick, "my husband's going to be in the Grey's spinoff"?

I also had a funny moment in the mall... I went into Cinema One, listening to my ipod.... And then I heard something... And I looked and they were playing Rent on their television... I literally heard Adam sing one note, and I knew what they were playing... It was right at the end of Another Day, so I wandered around long enough to get through Will I and then I had to leave... It was hot at the mall, but not as busy as I thought it would be...

My life today...

No I don't plan on being dramatic...

Saw 3:10 to Yuma tonight... Wow it was really good, but I went to see Peter Fonda and he's only in like a half hour of the film... Russell and Christian were really good though.

I slept a really long time today... And it is SO cold out...

I have to stop reading fanfiction that makes me cry... At leasts its GOOD fiction... From friendly, non-discriminating writers...

Oh and I found a connection to Queer as Folk in 3:10 to Yuma... I know, only *I* would ;o)

Hairspray was SO good!

I was a bit doubtful, because of the numbers that were cut out and some of the people that were cast, but it truly is a good movie.

Nikki and John were awesome, Christopher was perfect for that mix. Michelle being mean with Brittany (who can't sing and doesn't pretend to be able to) were great. Queen Latifah was great and can really sing (personally I think she signed just to sing Maybelle's songs), and the cameos (John Waters as the flasher, Ricki Lake as one of the talent agents and Jerry Stiller as Mister Pinky) were great...

I was a little leary of Amanda Bynes as Penny, because Kerry Butler sang her heart out in the part, but she really was okay... I looked it up, and she's a foot taller than Nikki, and a bit taller than most of the other actors... They didn't seem next to her a lot in shots. I'm still wondering why she's so tan all the time?

I liked that they took parts of the musical as well as the original movie for this adaptation.

Such a big BIG Girl!

That was so cute Harvey is on the Hairspray movie soundtrack...

Not sure if that's the correct wording... But God! Music and Lyrics was so funny... Drew and Hugh (hee hee that rhymes ;o)) were cute and had chemistry... I'm just not sure about the *romantic* chemistry. It was just what I needed after my totally shitty day yesterday... It was fun to see Matthew Morrison in something too...

I listened to, "It Takes Two," on the way home too...

This just made my WHOLE year!

Well so far anyway... Dreamgirls is finally coming to a theatre (the only one, I may add), in this city! WOOHOO!!!!!! Sometimes, patience and perseverance (I think, I spelled that right... Oh who cares... I'm going to see Dreamgirls!) pays off... I think Jamie Foxx's comment the other night didn't hurt either...
