I saw John Barrowman again...

I wasn't even intending to, and I did...

Well I had a job interview in Toronto, so I thought well since I'll be there anyway...

"I actually went with the intention of seeing him come in and then leaving to see the show at home, but that's not exactly how it happened.

I got to the CBC building, picked up something to eat, ate it and then started to wander around the building a bit... Then I thought to myself, if I wander to the other end of the building, I might miss him, so I sat down on a bench not far from the John Street entrance and people watched (and watched episodes of Torchwood on my ipod)...

I sat for a good hour watching the door, but then I looked back at where the line would start and lo and behold someone was finally in the line... And of all people it was urbanpringle and he waved at me... So I went and shot the breeze with him, told him my intention to only wait long enough to see John come in, and somewhere in that conversation, I ended up deciding to wait and see if I could get in to see the show (he told me that the rush line wasn't big last night either and that they had no problem getting in)...

We kept talking and it got later and later... And since I wasn't completely sure John was even coming (check his website to see what I mean), I was debating about whether to try and find this comic bookstore on Queen St that sells Doctor Who stuff... It finally got to 4 o'clock and I ended up going to the bookstore...

I walked past the Princess of Wales, which actually had a bit of a crowd out front... Then past Muchmusic (Finger Eleven was there today... whoooohooo... not), and got to the bookstore... They actually had a good selection of Doctor Who stuff... Not Doctor or Jack figures (except for a 10th doctor as part of a playset), I only saw a Martha and a big selection of minor characters... I did find what I was looking for Doctor Who and Torchwood books... They had three Torchwood titles and even though I have read reviews of them, I could not figure out which one I wanted... Finally I did, and made my way back to the theatre...

I almost hyperventilated, when I thought I saw his car (not his, but the exact same make, right down to the colour)... I got back to the theatre, and sure enough he was there... But I missed him... Which was totally fine, I was just glad he was there... That and it would have been totally weird if it had just been Elaine and Andrew on the panel...

So finally they started to let people in, and we were hanging just waiting to see if they would let us in... urbanpringle made friends with the mother of one of the little girls that was cast in the production, and they asked how many tickets he wanted he said three, but they only managed one extra... I was trying to be calm, but he could tell that I really wanted to get in tonight, so being the sweetheart that he is urbanpringle promised that if we didn't get in in the rushline he would give me his ticket, I kinda got choked up then...

The website said that they would people in the rush line know by 6:20 if they were going to let them in, but 6:25 came... And then they let in about 7 more VIPs... Then finally they came over to us and asked how many were in each group... There were three in ours and then 2 sisters behind us, another 2 ladies and then an old couple (who looked like they tried to get into the Blue Jays game, but then decided to try to get into the show)... They let the five of us up and made sure we were aware that we could not sit together... We ran for the elevator and I could see John across the way talking to some people... I was like I can't believe we're running where John Barrowman can see (and hear) us :P

We finally got in the studio and ended up sitting across the way from Janna's family (I was right across the way from Janna's boyfriend). I of course took a look to see who was in the VIP section for John, I could just see Scott... But I could not see the face of the person beside him... I knew from other reports that it was probably Carol, but I could not see her face before the show...

James came out with his instructions... Tonight he was wearing a nun's habit. He made a joke about having a party at John's hotel room, he repeated it when John came out, John said fine I won't be there (my first inkling that he was getting out of the city fast)...

James made some comments about people in the audience, and when pointed out the people behind the judges... He said you guys get to see the back of John Barrowman's head, and his butt... To which John turned around and pulled up his suit jacket so they could have a better look...

The show went by lightning fast, when Gavin started the show his first shot was right next to where I was sitting... Man is that boy pasty and wrinkly... Wow! All of the girls were great and the judges loved the bit with Janna and Elicia pushing the other girls down.

I'm so glad I got to see Janna and Elicia's musical theatre numbers in person... They were great and really need to be seen in person to get the full impact... And then they announced Elicia as the winner... Just like that, so fast, no dragging out at all... Janna was rushed off the stage and ended up sitting between her dad and her boyfriend...I know she was a bit in shock, and she was crying, but she didn't look sad that she didn't get the part... She looked truly happy that Elicia won...

I know that urbanpringle was :P, that and he got to sit next to an Air Farce guy... He was also interviewed by the Canadian Press tonight, so google him everybody :o)

So the show went off the air, and literally all the VIPs jumped on stage... John was on stage for quite a while... He looked like he was coming down, but then he went back... I watched and ended up standing in front of Carol and Scott who were talking to Gavin, and talking to the sisters that were behind us in line... They told me that Andrew Lloyd-Webber doesn't do autographs, I was like hmmmmmmmm...interesting... (not that I had anything for him to sign, *ahem* but that was what he actually said apparently).

When John left, I went outside the studio to watch the people going by, and to find my pals...One of whom was looking for Elicia *ahem*... Katie and Kyla went by and then I left to go downstairs... I dropped off my stuff at my car and then hung around for a bit longer.

At one point I heard a guy get miked that *he* didn't want to do autographs (most likely Andrew)... They even had a security car up on the sidewalk at John St, and a big truck double parked that said piano movers...

So I waited downstairs and across the street(I ended up reading a flyer that had job opportunities)... I ended up going back into the building and found urbanpringle. I wanted to have one last John sighting and he was trying to get invited to one of the parties... We saw Jayme go by and Marisa with her dad, and some of the people supporting Elicia, we even saw Andrew Lloyd-Webber leave... Still no sign of John and Elicia...

Finally I saw Elaine leaving and then I recognized a man in a striped shirt (that would be Scott Gill) and then I picked out John... Rob yelled thank you John, Canada will miss you (at that point I hid), but finally I got my nerve back and yelled bye John and waved and he yelled bye and waved back... I ran for the entrance, and saw them pull away and down the street... He booked it through the first light, but ended up having to wait to turn right at the next street(the same street that the Princess of Wales is on... Cannot rememeber the name of the street right now).

So all in all, a good night was had... I hope that Rob got to see Elicia tonight, but I honestly don't know, because I left just after John did...

I feel like my summer of John Barrowman was finished at a high point to which I am so glad... I mean I know I encouraged the others to talk to him, but tonight I finally took my opportunity and I am so glad that did...

I'm probably not entirely done, because I still have to figure out how to get my pictures on here...

It was more what was going on with Simon Lee and the CBC, I think...

I wasn't sure that John was going to be there tonight, because his website had his last Maria as yesterday (which I don't think has been changed yet and may never change). Which I think had more to do with CBC than John... I would think that he signed for so many episodes and then the format had to change slightly for the last episode, so an additional episode was added. The more I thought about it today, the more I was sure that John had to be there, cause it would have just been Elaine and Andrew, which would have been just plain weird.

That and I'm pretty sure he didn't go to any of the parties tonight, because he either had to catch a flight tonight or early tomorrow...

Yeah and tonight Gavin said nothing on air about Simon's absence. James said beforehand that it was a big personal problem (I don't think that the word he used was personal, but I honestly can't remember)...

I almost thought I saw him when we ran for the studio talking to John, but it wasn't him.

It gets weirder too, because his involvement doesn't end with the show ending... He's the musical director for the show... So hopefully whatever it is can be sorted out...

Simon was able to make it out to the after party at the theatre. He was very sorry for having missed the last shows. He really did want to be there.

I did see Elicia and Janna later at night. And ALW and Elaine signed my DVD that I won Sunday. And Somon shook my hand after he was talking to the crowd (of Elicia supporters including an Aunt).

I didn't go in to the party. Decided that my ill-gotten pass would have been a waste considering the party was soon to be over and I would have felt bad for Carl, who wasn't able to go.
